Heritage story:
This bar is made from 75% cacao of pure Philippine origin.
In 1609, a ship sailing between Mexico and Spain via the Philippines was wrecked off the coast of Japan during a violent storm. As the crew and cargo were thrown into the sea, pearl-diving women rescued both the sailors and their precious goods, which included cacao. Unaware that these were women who lived from diving, the sailors believed they had been pulled to shore by mermaids.
The ship eventually returned to the Philippines, where the cacao was planted. Les Sirènes is a tribute to those Japanese pearl divers, without whom this chocolate would not exist.
This chocolate is produced in limited quantities.
Ingredients: Cacao, cocoa butter, sugar.
Perfectly paired with bold cheeses such as Roquefort or Fourme d’Ambert, where the salty tang enhances the chocolate’s deep cocoa backbone.
