Queso de Valdeón PGI: A Bold Blue Cheese with a Rich, Spicy Kick!
Discover the robust, full-bodied flavour of Valdeón, a blue cheese made in the heart of the Picos de Europa mountains. This exceptional cheese, crafted from a blend of cow’s, goat’s, and sometimes ewe’s milk, boasts a complex, earthy profile with a piquant, slightly spicy tang and a luxurious, buttery texture. Aged for 1.5 to 2 months, its greenish-blue veins and creamy ivory paste make it both visually striking and irresistibly delicious.

Valdeón delivers an intense flavour experience—expect a blend of lactic tang, bold saltiness, and a hint of spicy warmth. Its rich, caramelized aroma adds depth, while the smooth, buttery paste melts beautifully on the palate.

Hailing from the remote Valdeón Valley, this cheese is ripened in natural caves under the perfect conditions: cool temperatures, high humidity, and local microflora. These unique elements, combined with the region's rugged, mountainous terrain, give Valdeón its distinct and unforgettable flavor.

Perfect for cheeseboards, spreading on crusty bread, or adding a punch to any dish, even a small portion of Valdeón packs a serious flavor punch.
