Straight from the rugged landscapes of Corsica, Saveur du Maquis captures the essence of the island’s wild, aromatic terrain. Produced by Fromagerie Pierucci, a family-run cheesemaker deeply rooted in Corsican tradition, this cheese is a beautiful expression of ewe’s milk in its most delicate form.

Made from fresh sheep’s milk, this cheese is gently aged and coated in a fragrant blend of dried herbs, juniper berries, and a touch of chilli — a nod to the maquis, the wild shrubland that blankets much of Corsica. These native botanicals infuse the cheese with a subtle complexity, creating a flavour that is light, fresh, and quietly aromatic.

Unlike many sheep’s milk cheeses that lean rich and assertive, Saveur du Maquis sits on the softer, milder side of the spectrum. Expect a delicate, creamy texture with gentle lactic notes, lifted by herbaceous tones and a faint, warming spice that lingers softly on the palate.
