Langres is a French cheese from the plateau of Langres in the region of Champagne-Ardenne. Made from cow’s milk with a soft centre and a washed rind. The cheese is matured according to a ver y demanding method of successive washings which gives it a beautiful orange colour. It's a cheese that has a pungent, intense and characteristic aroma which gives way to a fairly mild taste.

Source of milk: Cow's Milk
Texture: Smooth,  Creamy and sometime chalky
Flavour: strong aromas with notes of dried fruits, fresh grass and cream.

 

Wine Pairing: Paired well with Pinot Noir or Champagne.

    A different taste to many semi-soft cheeses, but most enjoyable. Would be a surprise packet on a cheese platter and would add greatly to the enjoyment among the other cheese selection. Will be on my re-buy list
