Munster, also known as Munster Géromé is a soft washed rind cheese made from milk produced by cows living in the regions between Alsace, Lorraine and Franche-Comté in France. The name Munster is derived from the little town of Munster where Vosgian abbeys and monasteries used to make this cheese since the Middle Ages.

Serving suggestionIt is great on a piece of bread. Some like it with cumin. You can make a full meal of it too, with potatoes and salad. You can use for Tartiflette too.

Wine Pairing: This cheese goes well with a Pinot, or a Gewurtztraminer (Wine from Alsace)

    Absolutely delicious...washed rind at its very best.... hard not to eat the full wheel in one sitting!

    I grew up in France and south of Germany. This cheese just brings back so many memories and I promise I will share it next time. Will definatly order again :-)
